What an EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) Session Looks Like
Every learner is different, and that’s exactly where Make & Grow Workshop thrives.
Our EOTAS sessions are designed to be flexible, creative, and hands-on, giving young people the chance to learn by doing. Whether it’s building a planter, crafting a birdhouse, or designing something totally unique, each session is shaped around the learner’s interests, ability, and pace.
We don’t just build projects, we build confidence, problem-solving skills, and pride. Each learner is involved in planning, measuring, and making, giving them ownership of what they create from start to finish. Sessions are calm, supportive, and full of encouragement, perfect for learners who need a more individualised approach outside of a traditional classroom.
Maths and English are naturally embedded into the making process:
Measuring, estimating, and calculating materials bring maths to life.
Writing labels, following instructions, and recording progress all build literacy skills without feeling forced.
Every session is about real, meaningful learning, practical, achievable, and confidence-boosting.
We adapt every element, from tools and materials to communication style, so learners can engage in a way that works best for them. Whether it’s one-to-one or small group sessions, EOTAS learners get the time and space to succeed, grow, and rediscover the joy of learning through creativity.
