From Pallet to Project – 20 Practical Pallet Design & Build Projects

£2.00

From Pallet to Project is a practical learning resource designed to give learners inspiration, build confidence and develop real-world design, construction and problem-solving skills.

The pack contains over 100 individual sheets covering 20 pallet projects, including benches, tables, storage, outdoor learning equipment, planters, sensory projects, play equipment and more.

What’s Included

Each of the 20 projects includes:

Bronze – simpler designs for developing basic skills and confidence
Silver – increased detail, accuracy and problem-solving
Gold – more challenging designs requiring greater skill and independence
Nine design variations for additional inspiration
Build hint sheets to support planning and construction
Design sheets to help learners develop their own ideas

Inspiration, Not Instructions

This is not a step-by-step flat-pack construction manual.

The designs are starting points. Learners are encouraged to work out how their project will be constructed, make decisions, solve problems and adapt their design as they build.

Some practical building knowledge, appropriate supervision and tool instruction will be required.

The ultimate aim is for learners to take inspiration from the examples and develop their own designs.

Flexible Practical Learning

The pack can be adapted to different learners, abilities and settings and may be particularly useful for:

Design and Technology
Construction and vocational learning
Alternative Provision
SEND and SEMH provision
Outdoor learning
School improvement projects
Intervention and engagement programmes
Project-based learning

The finished project is only part of the learning. Planning, problem-solving, creativity, practical skills and working out how to turn an idea into something real are just as important.

A little inspiration can often be all a learner needs to get started.
